Enderlin wins opener over LaMoure

Enderlin took the section game, but LaMoure bounced back to gain the split in American Legion baseball action on Wednesday at Townsend Field.

Garrett Hanson went the distance in the opening game, scattering eight hits, but held Post 19 to just three runs.

LaMoure had five more hits than Enderlin in the game, but walks and errors did in Post 19.

Chris Heinrich walked seven batters in 4 2/3 innings.

Brady Thielges went 3-for-3 and scored all three of LaMoure’s runs. Meiklejohn added two hits and an RBI as LaMoure now stands at 18-10 overall and 7-3 in Section 2 games.

In the nightcap, Tyler Thielges allowed just a single run in the top of the fifth as LaMoure won 4-1.

Lucas Madcke went 2-for-2 to lead LaMoure. He also had an RBI. Meiklejohn added a hit, RBI and scored once.
