Grant aims to fight Medicare fraud in ND
The North Dakota Center for Persons with Disabilities has been given a three-year, $533,000 federal grant aimed at curbing Medicare fraud and abuse.
BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — The North Dakota Center for Persons with Disabilities has been given a three-year, $533,000 federal grant aimed at curbing Medicare fraud and abuse.
The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services funds the program. The North Dakota grant is one of 54 programs nationwide.
Medicare is the federal government's health insurance program for people age 65 and older.
Officials say the grant is aimed at educating Medicare users about health care fraud and scams targeting citizens.
