OXBOW, N.D. — The Cullen Children’s Foundation announced Friday it was making a $1 million donation to the Sanford Health Foundation.
The donation, announced at Cully’s Kids Celebrity Golf Tournament this morning, will go towards a 3,000-square foot facility for children to have a fun environment while in Sanford’s Fargo hospital.
Sanford said in a news release $750,000 will cover the cost of the facility while the remaining funds will go towards a permanent endowment to support other operations of the play area.
The Sanford news release said the hockey-themed Cully’s Kids Area will likely include areas for play and relaxation, arts and crafts, kitchen projects, a resource library and learning area, a stadium theater and a video and interactive area.
Moorhead, Minn., native and Minnesota Wild hockey player Matt Cullen and his wife Bridget founded the Cullen Children’s Foundation in 2003.
