Berg giving opening remarks at field hearing

FARGO, N.D. (AP) — Rep. Rick Berg is giving the opening remarks Saturday morning at a House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform field hearing in Fargo.

The North Dakota Republican says he'll discuss the success of North Dakota's energy policy at the meeting, which will focus on domestic energy production.

The hearing will look at the economic growth and job creating potential of the Bakken formation and its contribution toward domestic energy.

Also scheduled to attend are fellow Republicans Chairman Darrell Issa of California, Rep. James Lankford of Oklahoma and Rep. Blake Farenthold of Texas.

The hearing begins at 9 a.m. at North Dakota State University's Beckwith Recital Hall.
