Winnipeg business looks to expand in Grand Forks

A Canada-based manufacturer of street sweepers is planning a small production facility in Grand Forks.

GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) — A Canada-based manufacturer of street sweepers is planning a small production facility in Grand Forks.

Winnipeg-based ODRA plans to buy a building and hire four people to assemble machines for the U.S. market. The Grand Forks Herald reports that the company has applied for a $44,000 loan from the city's economic development fund.

The Jobs Development Authority could take up the matter on Monday.

ODRA recently merged with Challenger Manufacturing, a U.S. maker of street sweepers.
