Sanford admitting patients to Aberdeen hospital

The new $55 million hospital in the northern South Dakota city of Aberdeen has started accepting patients.

ABERDEEN, S.D. (AP) — The new $55 million hospital in the northern South Dakota city of Aberdeen has started accepting patients.

Dakotas-based Sanford Health began admitting patients to the Sanford Aberdeen Medical Center on Monday, about two weeks after unveiling the three-story, 48-bed facility to the public.

Sanford Health is based in Sioux Falls, S.D., and Fargo, N.D. It has a presence in more than 100 communities in seven states and bills itself as the nation's largest not-for-profit rural health care provider.
