Oakes nips LaMoure in Section 2 contest

Oakes scored three runs in the top of the third inning and Simon Maddock made it stand up as Post 39 edged LaMoure 3-2 in Section 2 American Legion baseball Monday night at Townsend Field.

Maddock and LaMoure’s Zach Stemen locked horns in a pitcher’s duel.

Maddock allowed just three hits, while Stemen surrendered six. Maddock had seven strikeouts, while Stemen registered five.

Cole Ehrlin had two hits to pace Oakes. Simon Maddock had an RBI double for Oakes.

LaMoure’s Kenny Hodem paced LaMoure with two hits and a run scored. Jared Meiklejohn added an RBI single.
