The Jamestown Rural Fire Department put out a fire that had the potential to become serious Wednesday, according department chief Rick Woehl. No one was injured.

The fire was called in at 7 p.m. and it was located at 3432 82nd Ave. SE. A crew of 16 firefighters in seven units was on scene for about 90 minutes.

Woehl said a cause hasn’t been determined but he believes an electrical fire started in an outdated building at that site. Greg Finch, grandson of the property’s former owner, said there was zero loss.

Wood, broken down fences, other debris and an exterior wall caught fire.

“It was looking like it was really going to be ugly with that amount of debris,” Woehl said.
