Fire calls for week of July 21, 2012

Jamestown Fire Department calls July 13-20:

July 14: 2:34 a.m., ready squad responded to 124 First St. East, multi-family dwelling, to investigate a strange odor. Firefighters checked for smoke/fire; none was found. Cause: hot electrical outlet. Time out: 35 minutes.

July 14: 10:23 p.m., fire department heavy rescue squad responded to 8600 34th St. SE, to a report of person/s trapped in vehicle. Firefighters extricated one person from vehicle and assisted EMS. Cause: vehicle rollover. No firefighter injuries. Time out: 45 minutes.

July 16: 11:10 p.m., ready squad responded to 402 12th St. NE, single family dwelling, to investigate gas odor. Firefighters checked the home and detected natural gas. Cause: hot water heater. Occupant was advised to contact a repair person. Time out: 20 minutes.

July 17: 12:45 p.m., ready squad responded to 501 19th St. NE, Ave Maria Village, to investigate fire alarm activation. Firefighters checked for smoke/fire; none was found. Cause: accidental alarm activation. Fire alarm was reset. Time out: 20 minutes.

July 18: 7:50 a.m., ready squad responded to 501 19th St. NE, Ave Maria Village, to investigate fire alarm activation. Firefighters checked for smoke/fire; none was found. Cause: steam in kitchen. Fire alarm was reset. Time out: 20 minutes.

July 20: 2:11 a.m., ready squad responded to 1910 27th Ave. SE, Butler Machinery, to investigate fire alarm activation. Firefighters checked for smoke/fire; none was found. Cause: faulty detector. Fire alarm was reset. Time out: 40 minutes.

July 20: 2:52 a.m., ready squad responded to 1300 Second Place NE, Eventide at Hi Acres, to investigate fire alarm activation. Firefighters checked for smoke/fire; none was found. Cause: burnt food. Fire alarm was reset. Time out: 30 minutes.
