Former N.D. standouts sign overseas contracts

Two former North Dakota high school basketball standouts have signed professional contracts for the upcoming season.

DICKINSON (AP) — Two former North Dakota high school basketball standouts have signed professional contracts for the upcoming season.

The Dickinson Press reports that Brian Qvale (KWAL'-ee) of Williston and Austin Dufault of Killdeer will be playing basketball overseas.

Qvale, who played in Turkey this past year, has signed a one-year contract with a team in Belgium. The 6-foot-11 center was North Dakota's Mr. Basketball winner in 2007.

Dufault, a 6-foot-9 forward, will be playing in the Czech Republic. The recent University of Colorado graduate was North Dakota Mr. Basketball winner in 2008.
