LaMoure nails down No. 2 seed in Section 2

LaMoure sewed up the No. 2 spot in Section 2 with a 10-0 win over Ellendale on Friday night.

Post 19 scored two in the bottom of the first inning and eight more in the bottom of the fourth to build a 10-0 lead and end it early.

Tanner Carlson fired a two-hit shutout for LaMoure, notching seven strikeouts while allowing only two hits.

Jared Meiklejohn and Zach Stemen were each 2-for-3 with a double. Stemen had two RBIs and Meiklejohn one. Brady Thielges tripled and scored twice. Kenny Hodem had a single and two RBIs.

LaMoure improved to 21-11 overall and 8-4 in the section.

Lisbon is the No. 1 seed for the Section 2 tournament, which begins Tuesday. LaMoure, Carrington, Enderlin, Oakes, Wishek and Ellendale are seeds 2-7. The tournament runs through Saturday. The winner advances to the Class B State tournament in LaMoure Aug. 1-5.
