Fischer among Lions All-Stars
Jamestown High School’s Danny Fischer will play in the Lions All-Star Series the next two days. Fischer, a three-year starter for the Blue Jays, averaged 17.2 points, 4.1 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 1 steal per game in his senior season. Jamestown High School’s Danny Fischer will play in the Lions All-Star Series the next two days.
Fischer, a three-year starter for the Blue Jays, averaged 17.2 points, 4.1 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 1 steal per game in his senior season.
Fischer is the first boys player from Jamestown to play in the All-Star Series since Landon Rachel in 2008.
A handful of Class B performers also will be playing in the game.
Sierra Rosenau and Becca Scherr, teammates at Carrington, are both on the Class B girls team.
Rosenau accounted for 11.5 points, 7.8 rebounds, 3.9 assists and 3.6 steals per game for the Cardinals. Scherr contributed 14 points per game for Carrington, the 2011 Class B state champion.
Rosenau and Scherr were both three-year starters for the Cardinals.
LaMoure’s Tyler Thielges is playing for the Class B boys. Thielges averaged 14 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists for the Loboes last season as they were ranked in the top 10 for most of the year.
Mr. Basketball winner Melvin Langstaff and Linton-Hazelton-Moffit-Braddock’s Tanner Purintun are also on the team. Langstaff was the state’s top scorer last season, averaging a whopping 38.4 points per game.
Purintun, who has signed to play at the University of Mary next season, averaged 21 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists per game for the Lions, who placed seventh at the Class B state tournament in March.
Game 1 of the Lions All-Star Series will be played tonight at Bismarck Century. Wednesday’s games will be played at the Fargo Civic Center. Start time is 6 p.m. for the girls game with the boys to follow around 8 both nights.
