Townies improve record to 8-1

The Jamestown Tarno Townies improved to 8-1 on the season with a sweep of Beulah-Hazen on Saturday.

The Jamestown Tarno Townies improved to 8-1 on the season with a sweep of Beulah-Hazen on Saturday.

Rubber-armed veteran hurler Cory Anderson got the win in both games for the Townies as they completed the sweep 6-1 and 10-4.

Sam Joseph belted his fourth home run of the summer in the opening game. Anderson had three hits to go along with his mound work. Justin Connell, Jason Falk and Jeff Gould added two hits apiece.

In Game 2, Connell collected two more hits a double and three RBIs. Steve Bennion contributed two hits for the Townies, who host New Rockford in a doubleheader at Jack Brown Stadium on Friday at 7 p.m.
