There have been no signs of a Riverdale, N.D., man with Jamestown ties who went missing last October, according to the McLean County Sheriff’s Department.
Ronald Johnson, who was 74 years old at the time he went missing, was supposed to be in Jamestown on Oct. 15. He never arrived.
“We want to be optimistic and hopefully we can find something or find him,” said Deputy Sheriff Aaron Matties, McLean County Sheriff’s Department. “His vehicle is still missing with him.”
Johnson was last seen driving a gold 1982 Cadillac Fleetwood.
Security footage last showed Johnson at 4 Bears Casino and Lodge, in New Town, N.D., on Oct. 16. Johnson was on his way to the Needles, Calif., area for the winter.
Matties has contacted law enforcement in Needles and casinos Johnson was known to visit.
“There has been nothing,” he said. “There’s been no activity on his cell phone at all or anything like that.”
Johnson’s bank records also have shown no activity.
A search last May revealed nothing as crews traveled Montrail, Ward and McLean counties.
Matties said the case remains open, but currently he said has worked on potential follow-ups to the case.
