Vigesaa receives industry scholarship

Karsten Vigesaa, Grand Forks, has been named a 2012 scholarship award winner by Rocky Mountain Coal Mining Institute. The RMCMI scholarships are awarded to students who reside in one of the eight RMCMI member states and who are looking for a career in the coal industry.

Karsten Vigesaa, Grand Forks, has been named a 2012 scholarship award winner by Rocky Mountain Coal Mining Institute. The RMCMI scholarships are awarded to students who reside in one of the eight RMCMI member states and who are looking for a career in the coal industry.

The $2,500 scholarships are intended to help students further their education through RMCMI’s mission to “promote western coal through education.”

Vigesaa is a second-year student at Northland Community & Technical Colleges in Thief River Falls, Minn., where he is enrolled in the electronic technology program. He is the son of Myron and Nancy Vigesaa, Kensal, N.D.
