Suspect apprehended for burglary, theft

A Stutsman County woman returned home Tuesday to find her house had been broken into and was being burglarized, according to a news release from Stutsman County Sheriff Chad Kaiser.

A Stutsman County woman returned home Tuesday to find her house had been broken into and was being burglarized, according to a news release from Stutsman County Sheriff Chad Kaiser.

A woman who lives three miles northwest of Eldridge confronted the alleged burglar, Thomas Hoggarth, at 5:49 p.m. Tuesday. He returned most of her property to the driveway from his car and then left. The woman then followed Hoggarth's car.

Stutsman County Sheriff's Office and the Jamestown Department apprehended Hoggarth on charges of burglary, theft and criminal trespass.
