Woman returns to burglarized house

A Stutsman County woman returned home Tuesday to find her house was being burglarized, according to a news release from Stutsman County Sheriff Chad Kaiser.

A Stutsman County woman returned home Tuesday to find her house was being burglarized, according to a news release from Stutsman County Sheriff Chad Kaiser.

A woman who lives three miles northwest of Eldridge confronted the alleged burglar, Thomas Hoggarth, at 5:49 p.m. Tuesday. He returned most of her property to the driveway from his car and then left. The woman then followed Hoggarth’s car.

The Stutsman County Sheriff’s Office and the Jamestown Department then apprehended Hoggarth. He is charged with burglary, theft and criminal trespass.
