Arts Center to fire up outdoors

On Saturday, Aug. 4, the community is invited to attend the Arts Center’s “Fire in the Hole: A Community Clay Experience.”

Different groups and people of all ages over the course of the summer have created tile pieces of their own design.

On Aug. 4, those designs will be fired outdoors at the Arts Park in the raku or wood smoke kilns, or inside the Hansen Studio’s traditional kilns.

Once complete, the tiles will be hung in the art park and as a community clay installation.

The final configuration of the community clay installation has yet to be determined and people are welcome to share their ideas at the firing event.

Also on Aug. 4, the community is invited to the Jamestown Fine Arts Association Show opening at noon.

There is no admission charge for either event.
