Class A boys earn sweep

The Class A All-Stars swept the second night of the Lions All-Star Series in Fargo.

Points were plentiful in both games.

The Class A boys won for the second straight night. After scoring 105 points Tuesday, they hung up 87 more in a four-point win.

Jamestown’s Danny Fischer had eight points for the Class A team as all 11 players scored at least four points. Mandan’s Devin Coyle led the way with 21 points. Andre Maund and Tom Fraase, teammates at Bismarck Century, each had 12 points.

Tanner Purintun of Linton and Berthold’s Daniel Yale each had 16 points to pace the ‘B’ stars. Warwick’s Melvin Langstaff, the Mr. Basketball winner, added 10 points.

The game was tied 41-all at halftime.

The Class A girls outscored their Class B counterparts 53-37 in the second half to overcome a 10-point halftime deficit en route to a 90-84 win.

Bismarck Century’s Tessa Delzer had 20 points to lead Class A.

Dakota Prairie’s Brandi Messner had a team-high 13 points for Class B. Carrington’s Becca Scherr and Sierra Rosenau each added six.
