State amateur tournaments set

The pairings are set for next month’s North Dakota State Amateur Baseball Tournaments in Jamestown.

The pairings are set for next month’s North Dakota State Amateur Baseball Tournaments in Jamestown.

Eight teams will play in the Class A tournament, six teams are set in AA and the Triple A field features four teams.

The Class A tournament begins Aug. 7 with two first-round games. Two more follow Aug. 8. The Jamestown Hounds are the defending tournament champions.

The rest of the field features New Rockford, Tolna, LaMoure, Fairview, Fargo Mets, Central Plains Coyotes and Beulah-Hazen Blackjaws.

Semifinal games will be played Aug. 9 with the championship Aug. 11.

The defending champion Enderlin Indies head the Class AA field.

Two pool-play games will be held Aug. 10 and four more Aug. 11. The championship game is Aug. 11.

The Jamestown Tarno Townies, Valley City, Fairmount, Kindred and the Fargo Jays round out the field.

The Class AAA tournament will be held Aug. 16-18.

The three-time defending Jamestown Elks will be joined by the Jamestown Miller Lite Merchants, Fargo Expos and Wahpeton.

Cost is $20 for a tournament pass. Two games for an adult cost $5. Daily cost for students is $3. Tournament pass is $10.
