Hjordis Lindegren

Hjordis (Jordi) Ann Lindegren, 54, beloved daughter of James L. Lindegren, died unexpectedly at Sanford Medical Center in Fargo, ND on July 24, 2012.

Jordi, and her twin brother John, were born in North Bend, Oregon on July 8, 1958. A lifelong resident of Coquille, OR, Jordi loved her job at the City Library and the patrons she helped and served for 28 years. In her life, Jordi never met a person she didn’t like and couldn’t talk to.

Jordi was well known in the Coquille area as a member and performer of the Sawdust Theater Group. She also served on the Board of Directors for the organization. She was a Kiwanis member, a volunteer for the Humane Society, and helped start the County Historical Society. She enjoyed learning new things especially if something electronic was involved and took many classes at Southwestern Oregon Community College in North Bend.

Over the years, Jordi shared her home with numerous pets constantly taking in stray animals and finding a home for them whenever possible, keeping them when it wasn’t.

Jordi is survived by her father James, Ypsilanti ND; twin brother John of Coquille OR; and three cousins, Noreen Olson of Bismarck, ND, Kathy (Mike) Burton of Nisswa, MN, and Mary Ann Cole of Huron, SD.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Carole ( Homan) Lindegren; grandparents; and several aunts and uncles.

Memorial Service: 10:30 AM, Monday, July 30, 2012 at Montpelier Lutheran Church, Montpelier, ND, with Pastors Lucinda Nygard Lien and Terry Anderson officiating.

There will be no viewing, cremation has taken place.

A Celebration of Her Life will be held in Coquille at a later date.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to the charity of donor’s choice.
