CASSELTON, N.D. (AP) — Organizers of a North Dakota summer festival believe they set a world record for the largest twist dance.
A Cass County Summerfest spokesman says 2,788 people showed up on the streets of Casselton Saturday to shake their hips and swivel their arms.
The Guinness World Records website lists the largest twist dance as 1,706 participants at an event organized by a North Carolina radio station on Sept. 9, 2011.
The Forum newspaper reports (http://bit.ly/P3CVU2 ) that participants in Saturday's event ranged from parents dancing with infants to a 98-year-old man.
Casselton is located 25 miles east of Fargo.
