Women accused in theft cases

Two Jamestown women have been charged with theft of property in separate cases involving money stolen from their places of employment, according to Detective Sgt. Leroy Gross, Jamestown Police Department.

Two Jamestown women have been charged with theft of property in separate cases involving money stolen from their places of employment, according to Detective Sgt. Leroy Gross, Jamestown Police Department.

Lauryn Hale, 20, allegedly withheld $884 from deposits from M & H Gas Station from about May 22 to June 12.

Hale was summoned to appear in court. She is no longer employed at M & H.

Sarah Ellsworth, 30, allegedly removed $2,000 from her till at Wells Fargo from about July 10 to 19. Ellsworth was arrested. Wells Fargo declined comment on Ellsworth.

The cases are Class C felonies, punishable by up to five years in prison and a $5,000 fine.
