Some N.D. crops see rain; others still waiting
While some areas of North Dakota received much-needed rainfall last week, other parts of the state were desperate for precipitation for row crops and livestock.
BISMARCK (AP) — While some areas of North Dakota received much-needed rainfall last week, other parts of the state were desperate for precipitation for row crops and livestock.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture said in its weekly crop, livestock and weather report that 33 percent of barley, 14 percent of Durum wheat, 26 percent of spring wheat and 37 percent of oats are harvested.
Pasture and range conditions were 38 poor or very poor, 38 fair and 24 good or excellent.
The USDA said temperatures were above normal across the state. Precipitation was above normal in central parts of the state. It was below normal in much of the rest of the state.
