Dickinson men sentenced to 10 years for sex crime

A Dickinson man accused of trying to coerce a teenage girl into sex has been sentenced to 10 years in federal prison.

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — A Dickinson man accused of trying to coerce a teenage girl into sex has been sentenced to 10 years in federal prison.

Authorities say 31-year-old Jeremy Zastoupil (ZAS’-tuh-pool) last August had an online chat session with a Dickinson police officer posing as a 14-year-old girl and was arrested when he went to the site where a meeting had been arranged. He pleaded guilty in May to coercion and enticement of a minor.

U.S. Attorney Timothy Purdon says Zastoupil will be on supervised release for three years following his prison term. He also must register as a sex offender.
