ND political leader breaks foot in fall from roof

The majority leader of the North Dakota House of Representatives is in a wheelchair after falling from the roof of his lake home.

FARGO, N.D. (AP) — The majority leader of the North Dakota House of Representatives is in a wheelchair after falling from the roof of his lake home.

Fargo Republican Rep. Al Carlson tells KFGO radio that the 8-foot fall happened as he was preparing to go down a ladder. He landed on concrete and broke his right foot in three places.

Carlson is to undergo surgery on Thursday.
