WILLISTON, N.D. (AP) — North Dakota Highway Patrol troopers pulled more than 50 trucks off the road and issued more than $8,000 in fines during a recent enforcement effort in the western oil patch.
Sgt. Mitch Rumple tells KFGO radio that the 12-person inspection team found nearly 500 violations during the effort late last week.
Rumple says he was surprised by the number of truck drivers who weren't aware they needed a higher-class license. And about two dozen trucks were overweight.
