VCSU accepting application for arts

The Valley City State University Community School of the Arts (CSA) is now accepting registrations for the 2012-2013 music programs.

The CSA offers a variety of programs for community members interested in the fine arts.

The Valley Voices Women’s Choir will resume rehearsals on Thursday, Sept. 6. Rehearsals will be from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Thursdays in the VCSU Choir Room. The choir is open to women of all ages and experiences. Christopher Redfearn will be directing the choir.

The Valley City Civic Orchestra will resume rehearsals on Monday, Aug. 20. Rehearsals will be from 6:30 to 7:45 p.m. Mondays in the VCSU Band Room. The group includes string, brass, woodwind and percussion players. Dr. James Adams will be returning to direct the orchestra.

The Valley Children’s Choir will hold its first rehearsal on Thursday, Aug. 30. Rehearsals will be from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Thursdays in the VCSU Choir Room. Dr. Sara Hagen will be returning to direct the choir. This choir is open to grades 3-6.

The VCSU Community School of the Arts programs are open to all members of Valley City and the surrounding communities. The CSA offers scholarships for any CSA programs for those who qualify.
