BISMARCK (AP) — A North Dakota man has pleaded guilty to a charge of assault resulting in serious bodily injury.

U.S. Attorney Timothy Purdon announced Wednesday that 32-year-old Daniel A. Chase pleaded guilty to the charge in U.S. District Court.

Prosecutors said Chase got into an argument with another person in June 2010 near Lake Sakakawea. He allegedly used his hands and feet to beat the victim. The victim suffered several injuries, including a broken tooth, bruising and internal abdominal injuries which required surgery.

Chase faces up 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine when he is sentenced Nov. 19.
