A Wimbledon, N.D., man died in a motorcycle crash late Saturday, according to the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
The crash happened at 11:35 p.m. three miles north of Spiritwood, N.D., on Stutsman County Road 62.
Scott McMillan, 44, was riding a 1992 Harley Davidson northbound on the paved county road when the motorcycle entered a curved portion of the roadway, drifted across the southbound lane and went into the west ditch. McMillan lost control and was thrown from the motorcycle.
He was transported by ambulance to Jamestown Regional Medical Center, where he died, the patrol said. He was not wearing a helmet.
Alcohol was a factor in the accident, the patrol said.
Damage was estimated at $3,000 to the motorcycle.
The crash is under investigation by the patrol.
