VALLEY CITY, N.D. (AP) — The longtime auditor in southeastern North Dakota’s Barnes County is stepping down due to illness.

Ed McGough told KOVC radio that he has been battling a blood infection related to kidney stones. He said his condition improved earlier this year but the illness has returned.
