Krotseng named president of Bluefield State

Bluefield State College has selected Marsha V. Krotseng as its first female president.

BLUEFIELD, W.Va. (AP) — Bluefield State College has selected Marsha V. Krotseng as its first female president.

The West Virginia college announced Krosteng's appointment Tuesday.

Media outlets report the 57-year-old Krotseng currently is vice chancellor for strategic planning and executive director of the College Technical Educational Council for the North Dakota University System.

Albert Walker resigned as Bluefield State president last September to become president at Harris-Stowe State University in St. Louis. He had served as Bluefield State's president since September 2002.

Thomas E. Blevins served as Bluefield State's interim president and was one of the finalists for the permanent post.
