Heinrich was driving a 2004 Ford pickup westbound on I-94 also and after moving into the same lane Etherton was driving in, the driver slowed down for unexpected reasons.

Etherton applied her brakes but was unable to avoid striking the Ford pickup from behind, and subsequently both vehicles spun into a ditch.

Both vehicles rolled upon hitting the ditch and came to rest there.
