About 160 North Dakota National Guard soldiers who served a year in the Middle East are back on American soil.
WAHPETON, N.D. (AP) — About 160 North Dakota National Guard soldiers who served a year in the Middle East are back on American soil.
The Guard says the members of the Wahpeton-based 188th Engineer Company arrived at Fort Bliss, Texas, on Wednesday. They will return to North Dakota after going through the demobilization process, which will take more than a week.
The soldiers are from nearly 70 communities across North Dakota and into Minnesota. They deployed to Kuwait last August.
