Grafton loses in first round of regional
Grafton dropped an 11-4 decision to Iola, Kan., Thursday in the first round of the Central Plains Division II American Legion baseball region tournament.
WAHPETON — Grafton dropped an 11-4 decision to Iola, Kan., Thursday in the first round of the Central Plains Division II American Legion baseball region tournament.
Grafton will play Las Vegas at 8:30 a.m. Friday in the loser-out round of the double-elimination tournament. Ely, Minn., edged Las Vegas 1-0 in the first round.
Grafton led early, scoring twice in the top of the first, then scoring again in the second to take a 3-2 advantage. But Iola broke a 3-3 tie with three runs in the bottom of the third inning, then broke the game open with four runs in the fourth.
