The Jamestown Parks and Recreation Commission looked at setting its sights on a winter project at August’s monthly meeting.
Commissioner Joyce Heinrich suggested the commission look at kiosk signs for some parks to display rare birds in the region.
Parks and Recreation Commission Chairman Larry Knoblich suggested the signs could possibly identify trees in the park as well.
Heinrich said it would be a good project for the group to complete in the winter months.
In other news the commission heard an update on Pepper’s Dog Park. Heinrich said the benches have been installed. Only trees remain to be planted.
Knoblich said the fall months when more moisture is expected would be an optimal time to plant the trees.
