The Jamestown Fire Department responded to a report of a yard shed fire at 1005 14th Ave. SW at 2:50 p.m. Wednesday, according to Jerry Kainz, deputy fire chief.

Three trucks and 18 firefighters were on the scene until 3:45 p.m.

Fire damage was limited to the shed and some of the shed’s contents.

The blaze began in garbage cans beside the shed, Kainz said, adding the home’s occupants said they had put what they believed was cold fire pit ash into the garbage can.
