Olympians were competing in all different events on July 23 at the Anne Carlsen Center where the first Olympic Games were held for all students. Approximately 30 students came out for the events at the Jamestown campus.
The events included tug-of-war, relay races and softball throws. The teams were separated by classrooms and during the closing ceremonies, awards and Olympic jackets donated by former board member Richard Splitter of Springfield, Mo., were handed out by CEO Eric Monson. Each student received a medal and a jacket, and some were seen later that day wearing their jackets despite the heat.
The event is expected to be an annual event.
