The event begins at 5:30 p.m. and includes many activities, such as a hoop shoot competition with community leaders, a cakewalk with treats from various bakeries in town and games for children to begin fundraising toward the goal of $200,000. A full meal will also be served. The theme for the campaign is “Be an All-Star.”

“We are very excited to launch the ‘Be an All-Star campaign,’” said Lynette Stoddart, president of the United Way of Stutsman County. “The team has set a much higher goal than in recent years, due to extra need in the community. We feel the support of the community will remain strong, and have every intention of meeting that goal.”

The cost to attend the event is $7 for an adult, $4 for a child or $25 for a family, immediate family only. The United Way of Stutsman County helps 23 local agencies and more than 99 percent of the money donated stays in Stutsman County. The organization will be doing an event every month for the rest of the year to help reach its campaign goal.
