Mountain bike, run/walk races held

The 2012 Gear Grinder Mountain Bike Race and Pipestem Creek Trail Run/Walk were held Aug. 18 and 19 and Pipestem Reservoir.

The mountain bike race featured kids, recreational, sport and expert divisions. Recreation covered 6.5 miles, sport 13 miles and expert 19.5 miles.

The run and walk had men’s and women’s races of five and eight miles.

Both events had multiple winners spread across several age ranges.
