Jamestown College sophomore forward Jade Johnson booted home the game-winning goal just shy of six minutes into overtime, as the Jimmies defeated Benedictine College 3-2 in extra time at Atchison, Kansas on Friday night.
The Jimmies led 1-0 after the first 45-minute half on a goal by George Gauld just 2 minutes, 48 seconds into the match. Jamestown College went on to a 2-0 lead in the second, on Ellis Riley’s second goal in as many games.
Riley, a sophomore midfielder from Leads, England, scored the game-winner for the Jimmies in a 1-0 victory at Bellevue University on Wednesday night.
Benedictine College clawed back into the match, with goals at 61:29 and 88:13 to send the match into OT.
The Jimmies (2-0) have a week off, before traveling to Blaine, Minn., to face Graceland University on Sept. 1.
