BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — Furniture from the former warden's house at the North Dakota State Penitentiary is going on the auction block.
State law has changed so that the prison warden no longer has to live in the house on the west side of the state penitentiary. The house is set to be demolished in September, and now officials are trying to sell the furniture inside.
The Bismarck Tribune reports that the North Dakota State Surplus Property Division offered the furniture to other state agencies. But few items were claimed, so now officials are attempting to sell the pieces.
Surplus property manager Alan Brinkman says the auction will be held at the surplus property warehouse sometime in late September.
