The Napoleon-Gackle-Streeter 9-man football team used a pair of touchdown runs from Trent Fettig in the third quarter to distance itself en route to a 34-20 Region 3 win over LaMoure-Litchville-Marion on Saturday in Napoleon.
Fettig finished with 199 yards rushing and scored on TD runs of 6 and 4 yards, putting the Imperials up 28-12 by the end of the third after holding just a 14-12 lead at halftime.
Teammate Cole Breidenbach had TD runs of 1 and 5 yards for the Imperials’ first two scores. Breidenbach added 134 yards on the ground.
LaMoure-L-M got a 50-yard scoring strike from Jared Meiklejohn to Anthony Olson, and a 4-yard TD run from Brady Thielges to keep pace with the Imperials. Olson added a 4-yard TD run in the fourth quarter.

The Maple Valley-Enderlin football team scored a trio of touchdowns in the first half to take an 18-0 lead by halftime before holding off a hard-charging Griggs-Barnes County squad for an 18-13 win Friday in Tower City.
Dacotah McGough scored from 2 yards out and Jordan Haseleu added a 5-yard score to get MV-E going before Thomas Lindgren returned an interception back for a TD that eventually became the game-winning score.
Jacoby Kramlich caught a 54-yard TD pass in the second half to get GBC on the board, and Wyatt Steckler added a 10-yard TD run, but GBC couldn’t get any closer.

Michael Jacobson threw two touchdowns and ran for another, and running back Blake Bosch piled up 167 yards on 29 carries as South Border dominated Sargent Central 52-16 in Region 1 9-man action Saturday in Ashley.
South Border led 22-8 at halftime as Jacobson threw TD passes of 42 and 28 yards. He also had a 5-yard scoring run to get the Mustangs on the board. South Border rolled from there, scoring four TDs in the second half. Brayden Kuntz, Tucker Meidinger and Tanner Meidinger also had rushing TDs.

Strasburg-Zeeland saw Kyle Nieuwsma score on a 2-yard touchdown run and Nick Kramer add a 3-yard score to help the Clippers out to a 14-0 lead before Kayne Griffith and Richland kicked it into high gear, eventually winning the Region 3 game 40-22 on Saturday in Colfax.
The Clippers led 14-8 at halftime, but Griffith had TD runs of 36, 20, 5 and 71 in the second half to help Richland improve to 2-0 on the young season.
Kramer added a 78-yard kickoff return for a score in the third quarter.

The Wyndmere-Lidgerwood football used a blistering second quarter to down Ellendale 64-14 in a Region 3 9-man game Saturday in Ellendale.
The Warbirds (2-0) amassed 38 points in the second quarter to take a 44-0 lead into halftime. Luis Vasquez caught TD passes of 29, 40 and 45 yards and ran for a 5-yard score to lead the Warbirds.
Ellendale’s two scores came on scoring strikes of 25 and 15 yards from Chase Durheim to T.J. Belmore.

Despite a strong effort from running back Koby Houchin and quarterback Mark Nyhus, the Harvey-Wells County football team dropped its annual 11-man rivalry game to Rugby 20-19 Friday in Rugby.
Houchin had a 12-yard touchdown run to start the game, and caught TD passes of 34 and 54 yards from Nyhus to round out the Hornets’ scoring. On the final TD of the game, Rugby blocked the Hornets’ extra-point attempt to maintain its 20-19 lead.
Houchin finished with 11 catches for 167 yards, and Nyhus was 15-of-19 for 197 yards.
Rugby was led by Kyle Lovcik’s TD runs of 1 and 51 yards.
