Katie Blais of St. Michael-Albertville High School in St. Michael, Minn., has signed with the Jamestown College cross country and track and field teams.
Blais should know plenty about the Jimmies already. Her high school coach is JC Hall of Famer Gregg Greeno along with Jason Massman.
She has PRs of 5:26.00 in the 1,600, 11:46 in the 3,200, 15:59 (4 K) and 3:38 in the marathon.
“Katie is an outstanding student and has been consistently an all-conference runner for St. Michael-Albertville,” JC women’s track and cross country coach Jim Clark said. “I think Katie can make a significant impact in both cross country and track & field for the Jimmies.”
Blais is also active in gymnastics, speech, student council and Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
“Katie is just a nice young lady who we welcome with open arms. She will fit in well as a Jimmie,” Clark said.
She is the daughter of Lois and John Blais. She plans to study secondary mathematics and coaching at JC.
