Three injured in DUI crash

Three people were injured in a one-vehicle accident Sunday near New Rockford, N.D., along Highway 281, according to Sgt. Josh Rude with the North Dakota Highway Patrol.

The crash happened at approximately 9 p.m. Sunday at mile post 135 on Highway 281, where 28-year-old Sherri Houle of Devils Lake was driving northbound in her 2005 Chevrolet Trailblazer.

Houle was traveling from New Rockford to Fort Totten, N.D., in Eddy County, Rude said.

Houle failed to negotiate a curve on the road, entered the west ditch, at which point the vehicle rolled several times and came to rest on its passenger side door.

Both front seat passengers — Andrew Shaw, 23, and Reese Ironshield, 24, both of Fort Totten — were ejected from the vehicle.

All three occupants were transported to Carrington Hospital and Houle was life-flighted to Fargo.

The patrol said pending charges for Houle are driving under the influence and driving with a suspended license.
