Comedy

“The Odd Couple,” a dinner theater production by 2nd ACT Community Theater, is at 6 p.m. Sept. 20-22 with the show at 7 p.m. A 2 p.m. matinee is also on the 22nd. Tickets are for the dinner theater are $20 for Arts Center members and $25 for nonmembers. Tickets for the matinee are $7 for Arts Center members and $10 for others. They are available after Monday at the Arts Center.

Spiritwood Creek will play a bluegrass concert at 7 p.m. today at Frontier Village. Admission is a freewill offering.

The New York Kammermusiker performs at 7 p.m. Sept. 5, in Froemke Auditorium in Foss Music Hall on the campus of Valley City State University. Admission is a freewill donation.

Jamestown Community Open Mic is at 7 p.m. every fourth Tuesday at Grace Episcopal Church, 405 Second Ave. NE. All performers are welcome.

Around Town

A Campfire Chat, featuring Ann Marks discussing women of Fort Seward, is at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Fort Seward. There is no admission charge.

Wood carving with a local wood carving group is from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on the third Thursday of each month in the Arts Center’s Hansen Studio. There is no charge. Call Andy Kudrna at 320-5075 with questions.

Special Events

An exhibit based on the book “Sundogs and Sunflowers: Folklore and Folk Art of the Northern Great Plains” that will feature exhibits on traditions of the Northern Plains, is from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Saturday form Sept. 1-12 at the Barnes County Museum, 315 Central Ave. N, Valley City. There is no admission charge.

College Community Connection Block Party is from 5 to 8 p.m. tonight on First Avenue in downtown Jamestown. There is no admission charge.

National Buffalo Museum hours are 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. seven days a week. Admission: $5 for adults, $4 for seniors and AAA members, $10 for a family and $1 for children ages 6 to 18.

Stutsman County Memorial Museum hours are from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday through September. The museum is located at 321 Third Ave. SE. There is no admission charge.

Alfred Dickey Library hours are 10 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday. To access the Story Line, call 252-7464. The library is located at 105 Third St. SE.

Stutsman County Library hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. The library is located at 910 Fifth St. SE.

The Arts Center, 115 Second St. SW, Jamestown, is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, noon to 4 p.m. Saturday and by appointment Sunday. There is no admission charge.

The Putnam House in Carrington is open for special events and by appointment by calling 701-652-2090. There is no admission charge.

The Barnes County Historical Museum, 315 Central Ave. N, Valley City, is open year round from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Admission is a freewill donation.

The Ronald Reagan Minuteman Missile Historic Site near Cooperstown is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily. Admission is $10 for adults, $3 for children, $1 for a child, $30 for family season passes and $15 for an individual season pass. Contact Mark Sundlov at 701-797-3691 for more information.

Midland Continental Railroad Depot Featuring Peggy Lee in Wimbledon, N.D., is open from 1 to 4 p.m. Memorial Day through Labor Day. The museum is also open by appointment by calling 701-435-2333. Admission is a freewill donation.

The Arrowwood National Wildlife Refuge Visitor Center near Pingree is open from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, excluding federal holidays and from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. The refuge trail system is open daily sunrise to sunset.

Art

An Artful Happy Hour is at 5:30 p.m. Sept. 11 at the Hansen Arts Studio. There is no admission charge. People can bring their own beverage while working on an art project.

Sabrina Hornung’s art is on display at Unison Bank for the month of August. Unison features a new artist in its lobby each month.

The 48th Annual Jamestown Fine Arts Association Art Show at the Arts Center, 115 Second St. NW, features work from nine regional artists. It is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, noon to 4 p.m. Saturday and by appointment Sunday. It runs through Sept. 7. There is no admission charge.
