Bennion ties for first in Minot

Sierra Bennion’s ability to compete with the best in the conference was on full display Thursday in Minot.

Bennion fired a 75 to tie for first, but fell to Dickinson’s Rachel Jahner in a playoff at the Minot Invite.

Jamestown got additional help from junior Maria LeFevre, who took ninth with an 88 to help Jamestown to a fourth-place finish with a score of 398.

Bismarck Century won the competition with a 342, besting runner-up Dickinson by 26 strokes.

Rounding out Blue Jay scores were Sarah Azure (115), Kaitlin Mullowney (120), Mara LeFevre (127) and Savannah Kramlich (141).

The Blue Jays visit the Links of North Dakota golf course between Tioga and Ray for the Williston Invite at 10 a.m.
