Champagne talked about the new Alter G Anti-Gravity treadmill that the hospital has obtained. The advantage of this machine is its ability to allow patients to be mobile at a fraction of their body weights. By doing this, patients can dial in exactly where pain stops and movement feels good again. This, in turn, gives patients the opportunity to increase the rate of muscle conditioning and decrease total recovery time. The Alter G Anti-Gravity treadmill is used to help recover from surgery, rehabilitate after an injury or maintain exercise in order to combat the diseases of aging, Champagne said.
Tim Burchill led the meeting with 20 members present. Don and Sharon Caine led the group singing and Bob Welsh collected “Happy Dollars” for Stuff the Bus. Members were handed out a sheet of suggestions of things to bring to the Eliminate Project auction at Camp Rokiwan on Sept. 17. This will be to raise dollars to help with maternal and neonatal tetanus. Everyone was encouraged to bring friends and relatives. Anyone interested in coming should call a Kiwanian.
Clarence Mittleider will introduce the Wild West Players from Frontier Village at the noon luncheon meeting Sept. 10 at the Lantern Room.
