Jewels to visit Valley City
The Jewels of the Prairie will go to Valley City, N.D., for a garden tour and a cook-out on Sept. 11 meeting at the Civic Center at 3:40 p.m. for rides. Meet at the west end against the south wall.

Twenty-two Jewels of the Prairie Red Hatters attended “Meet Julie Day” at The Gardenette in August. They met Julie Dunigan, the new managing director of Gardenette Housing. She shared some of the history of her life and past work experiences. She also told about the work that is involved at the Gardenette.
Hostesses Melva Oak, Ellen Walz and Mirt Brown served key lime pie, coffee and iced tea. Ellen Walz read the book, “If you’re not from the prairie …”
