Patriots’ Day on Sept. 11 will be commemorated in Jamestown with a program and a Freedom Walk/Parade through downtown Jamestown. The event is sponsored by the Patriotic Council.
This is the 11th anniversary of the Sept. 11 terror attacks.
Freedom Walk is a free and nonpartisan event open to the general public. This is not a platform to discuss politics or policies, said Charlie Kourajian, Patriotic Council chairman.
The event will start with a half-mile walk through downtown Jamestown at 5:30 p.m., starting at the All Vets Club, 116 1/2 First St. E. After the walk there will be a free spaghetti supper served (about 6 p.m.) followed with a short program of remembrance of Sept. 11 and a show of support for military service members and first responders. Jamestown Police Chief Scott Edinger will be the speaker.
“Everyone is invited to attend, the walk route is short and should be an interesting walk/mini-parade downtown,” Kourajian said. “If you can’t make the walk, you are invited to come for the supper and enjoy the program.”
